Sono results

My RE called as I was buying a bag of highly overpriced airport Lay’s. Looks like I’m up for a hysteroscopy when I get back. He said it looks like there may be a polyp.

He wants to do it on day 5 of my cycle but I don’t think I’ll be back home by then. I’m willing my body to bleed late though. According to my period app I should be home on day 10. yeesh. Whatev’s, I’ll just go in in August.

He said half the time it’s nothing and half the time they have to to remove whatever is there. It does sound like the hysterscopy and the removal are 2 separate procedures which I’m not happy with. Why can’t he just do it in one go? I’ll have to ask when I call with day 1.

Oh dear, I just realized I’ll be on new insurance in August so maybe we’ll only be able to do this in September. Ugh.

The trip is going well. I picked up a lovely throat infection and I’m supposed to be working this first week so I’m in pj’s under the covers doing some work while my mum brings me food and meds. I can’t really be mad at that.

Hope everyone had a fantastic 4th of July weekend.

xx

  1. I’m sorry 😦 I had to have an h-scope after we discovered some of the placenta was still remaining after my D&C. I don’t know about polyps, but my doc was able to remove all the tissue during the h-scope and I didn’t have to have a separate procedure. Hoping things go smoothly whenever you are able to have it done. xoxo

  2. Well that’s frustrating! I hope they can get it all done in one go for you so that you don’t have to wait, and don’t have to have 2 separate procedures! Hope you’re feeling better soon!

  3. For what it’s worth, I just had a hysteroscopy yesterday and they were able to remove my 2 polyps at the same time. You should definitely ask for your doctor to remove them at the same time. This process is frustratingly long. I hope you get to feeling better soon!

  4. Ugh. I’m sorry to hear this. While yes, it is extremely common, I also understand the frustration of the delays. I’ve been through it twice. I had many polyps so I had to have a diagnostic hysteroscopy and then the surgery both times but if you only have one they may be able to do it in one go. Im so glad to hear you’re having a great time back home and that you’re being taken care of by your mama (if you’re gonna be sick, who better to nurse you to health right?)

    • You’re dead right. She’s loving having a sick child to dote on again too. lol. I’m sorry you had to struggle with lots of polyps. I’m frustrated with the possibility of one so I can’t even imagine how tough that was. *hugs*

  5. My RE does the removal at the same time as the hysteroscopy, as apparently it’s super fast. The only thing is anaesthesia. When my wife had her hysteroscopy, they didn’t give her any meds, but I’m not sure if they would have to sedate you a bit if they’re removing a polyp?
